There is also a nine year old boy among the five people of British nationality who have just been hospitalized in France because they tested positive for the coronavirus (here is our in-depth analysis with all the updates on the epidemic). The boy was with his parents, two brothers and seven other compatriots in a chalet in the French Alps, in Haute-Savoie, on the border with Italy and Switzerland. They were infected by another Briton who, returning from Singapore, went to visit them and spent a few days with them in the mountains at the end of January, in Contamines-Montjoie, a town with just over a thousand inhabitants close to Mont Blanc, between Chamonix and Megève.

In their chalet there are two apartments. In the first, three people - including the British who returned from Singapore - tested positive; in the second, a father and his 9-year-old son fell ill. The rest of the infected were taken to hospitals in Lyon, Saint-Etienne and Grenoble. Their conditions are not of concern, explained Health Minister Agnès Buzyn. Quarantine has been triggered for the other six residents of the chalet.
