BERLIN, DECEMBER 9 - One hundred days after the birth, in line with the Chinese tradition, the two twin pandas born in the Berlin zoo on August 31 last are named: they are called Meng Xiang, which means "desired dream", and Meng Yuan , "dream come true", and were presented to the press this morning.
To the public, however, they will only be visible in a few weeks, starting in 2020, the zoo officials have clarified.
These are the children of Meng Meng and Jiao Qing, who arrived from China in 2017, as a diplomatic operation to forge relations between the two countries. The two twins, which now weigh about 6 kg, are the first specimens ever born in Germany, according to the Chinese embassy. (HANDLE)
