The Roman day of Russian Foreign Minister Sergej Lavrov, one of the most eagerly awaited guests at the MED, begins at Palazzo Madama with a meeting with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio. The most pressing issue for Rome is the Libyan crisis, also in view of the Berlin conference scheduled for the beginning of next year which, after Paris and Palermo, should try to reach a ceasefire. To the request for support from the Italians, Lavrov replies underlining, with a clear reference to the general Khalifa Haftar that is not mentioned, however, as the key to solving the conflict is the inclusion of all the actors because there are too many players and rise up too many questions about who is legitimate and who is more legitimate. Lavrov, as he will say publicly in the afternoon, already considers the Berlin Conference a wasted opportunity, because the Libyans have not been invited. Then he emphasizes the importance of involving neighboring states and the African Union, while the agreement on maritime borders signed in Istanbul between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Prime Minister of the Tripoli government (GNA) recognized by the 'UN, Fayez al-Sarraj: An agreement to be demonstrated, he defines it Di Maio.
