LA VALLETTA, NOV 26 - Thousands of people demonstrated against the government and under the parliamentary seat in Malta. It is the fourth time in less than ten days that protests are taking place in the wake of the turn taken by the investigation into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galicia. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat was booed and insulted when he left the executive office in Valletta. The protesters shouted "murderers", "via the mafia", "in jail" to the deputies and representatives of the government.
Ministerial cars were targeted with eggs. Protesters chanted the national anthem as a sign of unity against corruption. "Two years ago the unthinkable happened. A journalist was murdered - said activist Pia Zammit -. Today we are here because we saw right. Daphne was right and should be here with us. We must never allow that to reign a culture of fear ".
