BERLIN, NOVEMBER 19 - "Investments for Africa are investments for the future". Angela Merkel is today hosting the "Compact with Africa" in Berlin, in the frame of the G20, an event that Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will also attend.
Speaking on the Ard TV, the chancellor explains that in the relationship with the African continent there is the possibility of a "win-win" situation. "It is a continent where there is more chance than risk, but much remains to be done". The objective of the compact is "to bring more investments to Africa", added Merkel, "while African countries must bind themselves, in exchange, to managing the political conditions of the environment in a more transparent way". 12 African countries participate in the compacts.
