Gb: no postal strike at Christmas

LONDON, NOV 13 - No Christmas strike for Royal Mail workers, the British post office. This was decided by the London High Court, accepting the appeal lodged by the company against the method of an abstention from work announced by the trade unions for the end of December.
Last month over 100,000 postal employees had voted in favor of the protest, proclaimed due to an unresolved dispute. But the Royal Mail summit had denounced the consultation as "potentially irregular" and therefore nothing: a suspicion of which the court has accepted the merits today.
The Communications Workers Union (CWU), a sectoral union, closely responded by announcing an appeal and branding today's verdict as "an absolute outrage" and an "establishment against 110,000 workers" challenge. Royal Mail was privatized at the time and has been at the center of repeated union conflicts in recent years, between cuts and radical restructuring projects.
