BUENOS AIRES, OCTOBER 24 - The firemen intervened today at dawn in Chile to extinguish two fires set up by strangers at supermarkets in the localities of Conchalí and Maipú. Radio BioBio reports this.
The broader of the two incidents, states the broadcaster, is the one that involved the 'Mayorist Center' of Conchalí, and that took hours to tame it. The intervention made it possible to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby company.
The deputy chief of the city's fire department, Gonzalo Morales, said the previously looted structure had been completely destroyed.
The other supermarket, also plundered, has instead reported minor damages: in Maipù the fire brigade turned off two outbreaks, however of important proportions, near the coffers and in the wine area.
