ROME, OCTOBER 15 - "We are told that we cannot talk about the right to self-determination. Well, not only will we talk about it, but we will do it again". The president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Quim Torra, writes on Twitter in the aftermath of the ruling in the Catalan separatist leaders' trial.
Torra today paid tribute to the tomb of LluĂs Companys, president of the Generalitat de Catalunya from 1934 and during the Spanish Civil War, shot by Spanish dictator Francisco Franco in 1940. Torra, according to reports from La Vanguardia, also asked the government to recognize the "state crime" against Companys to do "justice".
