(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, SEPTEMBER 27 - Tunisian lawyers today protest in all courts of the country against the opening of a criminal investigation against defenders of the defense committee of martyrs Belaid and Brahmi. The reference is to the sit-in held last September 20 by forty lawyers for the defense committee of martyrs Belaid and Brahmi at the prosecutor's office, which, according to the Ministry of the Interior, for the manner in which it occurred , forced the authorities to call in law enforcement to restore order in the building. The lawyers instead report that they were attacked and beaten. The slogan of the so-called 'Day of rabies' will be "no assault by lawyers, the right to defense is a fundamental guarantee for the independence of the judiciary". The Order of Lawyers has announced complaints to the Superior Council of the Judiciary and to the Ministry of Justice of the Public Prosecutor at the Tunis Court of First Instance, as well as at the United Nations.
