The governor of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam withdrew the proposed extradition law in China, the subject of protests that shook the former British colony this week . The law is completely withdrawn, announced Hong Kong governor Carrie Lam, in a video message broadcast by local TV stations. Lam also called the amnesty for protesters who have been arrested since the protests against the extradition law reform unacceptable. A similar request, one of the five demands of the protesters, is against the rule of law and is against Basic Law, the fundamental law with which Beijing regulates its relationship with the former British colony, said Lam during the television message.
