NEW YORK, AUGUST 22 - Bernie Sanders focuses on the climate and presents a $ 16,300 billion plan to combat climate change. The 'Green New Deal' of the Democratic candidate for the White House foresees the elimination of the use of fossil fuels in the United States by 2050. Defining climate change as a national emergency, the ambitious plan aims at the construction of solar and wind energy sources in the United States but also provides for the allocation of 200 billion dollars to help poor countries to tackle climate change.
Sanders' plan follows Washington's governor-run state run, Jay Inslee, who made the climate the central theme of his election campaign.
