MEXICO CITY, 31 JULY - The Mexican police found the body of the journalist Rogelio Barragán, 47 years old, director of the news portal 'Guerrero al Instante' in Zacatepec, Morelos State.
Barragán, who had been repeatedly threatened by organized crime, became the tenth journalist killed in Mexico in 2019.
A preliminary report from the investigators revealed that his body was found last night in the trunk of a car. His hands were tied, obvious signs of torture and the existence of gunshots, especially in the face and head.
According to the NGO Reporter Without Borders (Rsf), in the ranking of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists, Mexico is in third place, after Afghanistan and Syria, two nations at war.
