Nepal: at least 43 dead due to bad weather

KATHMANDU, JULY 14 - At least 43 people have died in Nepal since last Friday and another 24 are considered missing due to the bad weather that hit the country causing flooding and landslides.
According to police reports, stretches of roads and highways are blocked in various parts of the country due to landslides and telecommunications pylons have been torn down by strong winds: so far 20 people have been injured and over 1,100 have been rescued from flooded areas.
Bad weather should also continue in the coming days and the Meteorology Department has urged the population to monitor river levels and be ready to leave their homes in the event of floods.
