Two oil tankers went up in flames in the Gulf area, off Omani, after three explosions on board, probably caused by an attack. It could have been a torpedo hitting one of the two tankers. There would be no injuries. Both tankers caught fire between 08.50 and 09.40 local off the Iranian port of Bandar-e-Jask. A first boat, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, the Front Altair, was carrying ethanol from the port of Al Rous in Qatar to Taiwan. The other ship, flying the Panamanian flag, the Kokuka, was carrying a cargo of methanol from Saudi Arabia and bound for Singapore.
