96 year old Semyon Rosenfeld, the last survivor of the Nazi extermination camp in Sobibor, on the Polish territory occupied by Hitler, died in Israel. Ynet reports.
Rosenfeld left the camp in September 1943 along with 300 other prisoners, after a revolt against the SS led by Alexander Pechersky. Many were recaptured or killed in the following days. Rosenfeld, of Ukrainian origin, hid in the woods along with another small group of fugitives until the spring of 1944.
