TOKYO, MAY 28 - At least one dead child and 17 injured, including another 13 elementary school students, reported a stabbing this morning at a bus stop in southern Tokyo, in the Kawasaki district.
The assailant also died, a man between 40 and 50 years found in possession of two knives: he died due to neck injuries allegedly inflicted. The fire brigade of the Noborito station received an emergency call at 7:45 local time (00:45 in Italy). The female students - attending a private Catholic school of Caritas in the Kawasaki district were at a bus stop at the time of the attack.
The incident occurs during the last day of the state visit of US President Donald Trump in Tokyo.
Japan is one of the countries with the lowest crime rates in the world and often - right from primary school - children are used to going to class without adult supervision.
