The two fronts divided between for and against. The deputies voted 66 to 27 to legalize exclusive and permanent unions, allowing gay couples to register marriage in front of government agencies.
Two more reform projects had been presented, more conservative, which spoke of same-sex family relationships instead of marriages, but the government front won.
