ALGIERS, APRIL 12 - Thousands of people took to the streets in Algiers to demand a real change of system at the top of the country and to say that the sole resignation of former president Abdelaziz Bouteflika is not enough. The police, deployed in force, used fire hydrants to disperse the crowd and there were sporadic clashes.
"Bensalah, get out!", Said the crowd waving Algerian flags and calling for the resignation of the interim president called "a residue of the Bouteflika system".
