It was almost inevitable that with the approach of the National Conference the tensions would be rekindled, so serious as to make Tripoli slip back into the siege psychosis. It is from the revolution assisted by NATO in 2011 and the lynching of Muammar Gaddafi that in Libya politics and military confrontation often go hand in hand. Today the scenario resumes in a more serious way the one that had already been proposed to the sound of machine guns and mortar shells in the past August-September. The Khalifa Haftar troops, raise their advance on the capital. The difference is that now the strong man of Cyrenaica flexes his muscles, with the maximum of local and international attention. In a warlike video propaganda his operation to free Tripoli. The reason is clear: the UN envoy Ghassan Salamé organized the Conference in the oasis of Ghadames, in the south-west of the country, for 14 and 16 April. Haftar intends to get there from a position of strength, with the halo of the winner.
