CAIRO, MARCH 29 - A million people took to the streets in Algiers to claim the end of the Algerian power system. This is reported by the BBC website. Although official estimates are lacking, the event could therefore be the most impressive of those that took place every Friday from 22 February and which, by participation, had culminated so far on 8 March. For the first time, the four public TV channels broadcast the protests live, reports the "Dia" website.
