CARACAS, 6 FEB - The Venezuelan National Assembly, controlled by the opposition, has approved in Caracas "a strategy of urgent complex help in food and health for the humanitarian emergency", addressed "to people whose life is in danger". In this way, the Assembly, chaired by Juan Guaidó, decided to oppose the position of President Nicolás Maduro who said he was against his entry because it would be a pretext for a US military intervention. Meanwhile, the president of the National Constituent Assembly (Anc, controlled by the government), Diosdado Cabello, has appointed a commission that will undertake to carry out a popular consultation on the early development of legislative elections, scheduled for 2020, as proposed by President Nicolás Maduro . The opposition, however, supported by many foreign countries, has asked to anticipate the presidential elections.
