CAIRO, DECEMBER 17 - Cairo's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hamed Hafez, has denied information relaunched by an Egyptian opposition website according to which the Egyptian ambassador in Italy could be recalled at home early next year the scope of the Regeni case.
"Everything that has been mentioned is completely unfounded, completely untrue," Hafez told ANSA at the request for a comment on the Mada Masr website.
The site, obscured in Egypt because considered close to the Muslim Brotherhood banned in the country, had quoted an unknown "source of the Foreign Ministry" to argue that "there are allegations that Badr could be removed from his post and sent back to Cairo at the beginning of next year, about the third anniversary of the killing of Regeni ".
